Admissions And Enquiries

Applying for a course at the Institute is easy, our Admissions Team are available to help you every step of the way. We hold a number of open events throughout the year to give you the chance to come in have a look around and discuss your course and career options.

Applying to study a full time course at the Grimsby Institute takes five easy steps:

STEP 1: Decide what course you want to study. You can get advice from either your school careers adviser (if you are still at school) or you can book an appointment with one of our qualified careers advisers.

STEP 2: Come along to one of our Open Days to find out more. This will also give you the opportunity to meet the tutors and current learners and discover more about the excellent facilities available at all our campus sites.

STEP 3: Apply online or download an application form here If you are still at school you can apply via the Lincs2 web site. Your school will provide more details on how to register.

STEP 4: As soon as we receive your application, you will be given an interview date and time. The interview will be with a tutor from the area you are interested in, and don't worry; you can even bring your parents or guardians if you want to. At the end of the interview you may be offered a place on your chosen course. If you confirm that you wish to accept the offer then it will be held for you and not offered to anyone else, subject to you fulfilling the requirements.

Don't worry about getting on a course, we are here to help you, so, if you have any queries or worries after you have received your exam results don't hesitate to contact our Admissions team on 01472 311216 or email infocent@grimsby.ac.uk

For all courses you will also receive an invitation to attend an Introductory Day (late June/early July) where you can gain some practical experience in your chosen subject(s) and get to know the Institute and your tutors a bit better.

STEP 5: Enrol on your course late August/early September. The enrolment dates vary from year to year and you will be told your enrolment date well in advance. If you are offered a conditional place (based upon gaining certain grades) and you then find your actual grades are lower than expected, or possibly higher, you should discuss your options at enrolment.

In some circumstances it may still be possible for you to study your chosen course, or it may be that another course would be more beneficial for you. You’re now a student at the Grimsby Institute and can look forward to innovative, inspiring teaching and learning plus you can take part in lots of other activities through our Enjoy Programme.
