onlinelearn is the eLearning support and development agency of the Grimsby Institute. We are based in the Engineering Faculty but we are commissioned to work on a range of projects across the Institute and for external agencies and organisations.

Our primary focus is helping tutors to move towards online forms of education – most commonly as part of a ‘hybrid’ or ‘blended’ course which includes face-to-face and online contact. A number of our projects involve the creation of both print and online materials – working in harmony to create a complete programme.

We can offer advice and guidance, some of what is on this website – or we can work with tutors to convert and create materials into rich, interactive, engaging online materials and courses.

We have skills in technology, learning design, graphic and media design, web design and animation so we can create materials and the ‘back office’ systems and services required to deliver them effectively, monitor student performance, etc. We work with other Institute agencies where possible and we would normally expect to deliver materials to students via Moodle, the Institute’s virtual learning environment.
