Animal Care Courses
An exciting range of courses that provide a strong career foundation
From our excellent foundation programme through to the more advanced diploma courses our aim is to give you an interesting and practical experience.
By working in the specialist animal house at the Institute, attending work placements and visiting events such as Crufts and the Lincolnshire Show, we make sure that you cover every aspect of the modern animal care industry.

Past students have gone on to careers in veterinary nursing, kennel management and dog grooming and are amazed that in such a short time they are already working in their dream job.
- 14-19 Diploma
- Environmental and Land Based Studies - Animal Care
- Duration: The Diploma is normally a two year full time course.

- Entry Level
- Introduction to working with Animals
- Duration: 1 year part-time (9 hours per week).

- Level 1
- Introductory Qualification in Land and Environment
- Duration: The course is 12.5 hours per week plus three hours of basic/key skills for 1 year.

- First Diploma Animal Care
- Duration: This course is offered full time, usually 4 days per week with a day for home study, over an academic year.

- National Certificate Animal Management
- Duration: This qualification may be taken as a full time programme for 16 -19 year olds, or as a part time programme for mature learners. Class contact hours per week will be approximately 16.

- National Diploma Animal Management
- Duration: 2 years full-time. Class contact hours per week will be approximately 22.
