Computing Courses
An exciting range of courses that provide a strong career foundation
From the very basic course through to the more advanced, our computer courses will teach you how ICT is used throughout business and society.
We train you using a hands-on approach and have good contacts with many businesses in the area, enabling you to go on work placements that will give you invaluable skills for the computer industry.
Our courses will give you an excellent grounding in hardware and software plus web page creation and systems maintenance. The basic skills will give you a foundation for you to build on whether you go on to more advanced qualifications or enter into the work place.
- 14-19 Diploma
- Information Technology
- Duration: The Diploma is normally a two year full time course.

- Certificate in Skills for Working Life in Business Administration
- Duration: 1 year full-time.

- Diploma in Digital Applications
- Duration: Full time for 1 year (15 guided learning hours, plus home study).

- OCR iTQ
- Duration: Assessment in the workplace, supported by independent study.

- National Certificate in Information Technology
- Duration: Full time, over 1 year.

- iTQ NVQ for IT Users
- Duration: 3 days at the Institute and 2 days on work placement, for 1 year.

- National Extended Diploma in IT (Software Development)
- Duration: Full time (20 hours class contact for Diploma). A further 10 - 15 hours of personal study time is generally required.
