Horticulture Courses

An exciting range of courses that provide a strong career foundation

For the green-fingered student, you will be surprised at how many careers there are in the horticulture industry. From working in garden centres to plant production or owning your own business, there are plenty of options available for anyone with even a casual interest.

Based primarily at the Institute-owned Floral Hall, situated in the newly landscaped People’s Park, you will be trained in all aspects of horticulture. Starting with preparation for work in the industry you will eventually progress through to the more advanced courses where you will work in our tropical greenhouses and nursery and learn more about subjects such as soil preparation, planting, establishing crops and supplying nutrients.
