All international students accepted onto full-time courses at the Grimsby Institute will be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully and if you have any queries or questions please email international@grimsby.ac.uk
1. Enrolling for a course at The Grimsby Institute constitutes a binding agreement on the student to follow the course and pay the full tuition fees.
2. All the declarations made in applications are accepted in good faith. Any false declarations about qualifications or age, or failure to produce documentary evidence of entry qualifications, may render a student liable to exclusion from the course he/she has been admitted. In such cases a student will not be entitled to any refund of fees, but will be allowed to transfer to another course offered by the Institute for which he/she meets the entry criteria.
3. Students found to have difficulties in following a course due to inadequate language skills will be required to follow a remedial course in English Language at The Grimsby Institute until their level of English reaches a satisfactory standard. This course will be provided at the student's cost.
4. Students unable to join their course by the scheduled date must inform the Institute in writing at least two weeks prior to the starting date of their course. Any applications for deferment of the starting date which are not received within the specified time, will only be accepted at the discretion of the Institute.
5. Fees for courses as quoted are for tuition only. Registration fees with professional bodies and/or examining boards, examination fees, books, manuals, writing materials etc are not included.
6. The £50 administration fee will be refunded, or transferred to an application for another course, if the Grimsby Institute does not run the course originally applied for.
7. Tuition fees or deposits paid are not refundable. However, if a student has been refused a visa or entry to Britain, the total fees paid will be refunded, provided all the following conditions are met:
| A | The student has informed The Institute in writing about his/her inability to start the course at least two weeks prior to the commencing date of the course. |
| B | The student has not entered the UK. |
| C | The Institute is provided with the original letter by the British High Commission Embassy, confirming the refusal of Visa. This will be returned to you. |
| D | The student has not appealed against the refusal of Visa. If an appeal has been lodged, the fees will be refunded only upon receiving documentary evidence that the appeal has been dismissed. |
| E | The Grimsby Institute offer letter and the receipt for the fees paid are returned to the Institute in their original form. |
8. Students who are late in starting their course will not be entitled to any refund of, or reduction in tuition fees; this also applies where students have been absent from classes for a period of time and where they may not have been attending all the subjects for which they have been enrolled.
9. If a student is required by the Home Office to leave the UK because of poor attendance, or because of any breach of law, tuition fees paid will not be refundable.
10. All details printed in the prospectus and accompanying documents are correct at the time of printing. The Institute reserves the right to make changes to the structure and content of courses, including the amalgamation or cancellation of classes, if deemed necessary.
11. If the application form is signed on behalf of the student by his/her sponsor/guardian/representative, these conditions will still apply. If fees have not been paid, the Principal or his nominee will issue, normally by the fourth week of the first term of the course, a written warning to the student advising that, if the fees are not paid within seven days, the student will be required to withdraw from the Institute. If, after such a warning, the student has still not paid the appropriate fees, the Principal or their nominee, will issue a notice requiring the student to withdraw from the Institute.
12. A student whose fees are to be paid by an acceptable organisation or agency, will be notified if the sponsor subsequently refuses to pay or defaults in payment of the student's fees. The student will then be given four weeks in which to pay the appropriate fees. At the end of the four week period, the student will be required to withdraw from the Institute if the fees have not been paid. Under exceptional circumstances, the Principal or his nominee, may approve alternative arrangements.
The Institute makes every effort to ensure that the information contained on this website is consistent with that contained in the printed prospectus. However, in the event of any discrepancies between printed and website information, the details given in the printed prospectus will be deemed to be the correct edition
