An exciting range of courses that provide a strong career foundation

Our plumbing and gas section is by far one of the largest areas of part-time courses at the Grimsby Institute.

Many of the courses are aimed at the professional plumber and are designed for people working in the business to remain up to date with changing regulations and advances in technology.

We have recently increased the number of courses available, consequently this has meant that there are far more choices of days and times for student attendance. Courses can be fitted easily around your normal working life, with some classes being held at night and some on day release programmes.

Our tutors are all highly skilled people who have worked extensively in the plumbing and gas industry meaning you will enjoy practical, comprehensive training throughout the duration of your course at the Grimsby Institute.

  • ACS Gas Training and Assessment
  • Duration: Attendance is daytime, duration depends on assessments taken.
    Up to 4 days industrial updating, between 1 and 3 days assessment.

  • Water Regulations
  • Duration: The course is, in the main, an open learning one.
    You will book in for the course and then be sent/given a set of 12 module booklets covering the various aspects of the course. These are studied at your leisure for a one month period (assistance from the course tutor available throughout if required) after which you attend the Institute for one days training and assessment.

  • Duration: The course offered will be delivered on a part-time basis. (one day a week for the underpinning knowledge) on-site assessment spread over the 2 years.
