The Institute was delighted at being named as Association of Colleges Beacon Award winner for providing an Inclusive envrionment. The Institute won the 2009 LSC award for its exemplary practice in and around the area of Equality and Diversity within the Institute and in the wider community.
As well as our busy internal agenda it recognises our work with external partners on Equality and Diversity

The Beacon Awards Programme is designed to promote the interdependence of further education colleges and business, professional and voluntary sector organisations to their mutual advantage.

Among many other important goals, the Beacon Awards also aim to draw attention to provision which encourage students to confront problems and issues creatively.
