Work Based & Learning Students Calendar

September
  • Get familiar with the Website and the paperwork you will need
  • Complete and submit either the still looking form or the request Work Placement Authorisation form to (heplacements@grimsby.ac.uk)
  • Sign up for an individual Tutorial with the placement tutor if needed
  • Start to write up CV if looking for a placement
October
  • Complete and hand in CV (if you do not have a placement)
  • Individual Tutorials continue
  • Check the website regularly for placement info
  • Check for any Guest Lectures from visiting employers
November
  • Find out about organisations you may want to apply to
  • Start writing letters if making own applications
December
  • Continue with applications and interviews
  • At the end of the semester update placement tutor with what you have done and where you can be contacted over the holidays

You should by now have a start date for your placement

January / February
  • Update placement tutor with what you have done and where you can be contacted over the holidays
  • Update CV if necessary
  • Spring semester seminars start
March / April
  • Return all required forms
  • You will be receiving a visit shortly
  • If still unplaced KEEP TRYING
May
  • Update placement tutor with what you have done and where you can be contacted over the holidays
June/September
  • Update placement tutor with what you have done and where you can be contacted over the holidays
