Level 2 - BTEC First Diploma in Media
Duration: One Year Full Time
A one year, introductory course to the media industry and the making of media products. The course is aimed mainly at School Leavers, but may also interest those wanting to re-enter education.

The course is very practical based. Each week you will learn how to produce media products such as videos, photographs, magazines, games design and web pages. You will also learn about media products and the media industry. All work is assignment based and assessed by tutors.Students wishing to persue a career in this area need to achieve good standards in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT. For this reason, if you are under 19 years of age when you begin your course, you will be required to study these essential subjects.
You will have 16 hours of tuition per week, but will need to spend time outside of this on individual or group projects.
What next?
Once completed, you will be able to join our BTEC National Diplomas in Moving Image, Journalism, Games Design, E Media or Photography, or you could go on to do AS Level studies. This in turn could lead to our Degree courses.How is the course assessed?
All work is assessed by your tutors on an assignment basis. The grading has a Pass, Merit or Distinction.Which campus?
