Media courses
Level 3 - National Award, Certificate and Diploma in Media (Photography)
Duration: The course is full time.
The National Award lasts 1 year. Pending successful completion of the Award, learners will move onto the National Certificate which will be completed by Christmas within the second year. Following successful completion of the Certificate learners may be allowed to progress on to the National Diploma which will finish in June of the second year.
The course is designed to provide specialist work-related skills in Photography that provide opportunities for a career or academic progression in the field.
Entry Requirements
Students must be 16 years old or over with five GCSE's at Grade C or above (or equivalent).What you learn
Students will gain a knowledge and understanding of the areas such as photographic history, different forms of producing images and visual communication. Learners will experience a high degree of hands-on practice in both traditional and digital photography - from 35mm camera and darkroom techniques to digital imaging and manipulation.Students wishing to pursue a career in this area need to achieve good standards of Literacy , Numeracy and ICT. For this reason, if you are under 19 years of age when you begin your course, you will be required to study these essential subjects.
