Level 3 - AAT Intermediate NVQ/SVQ in Accounting

Duration: Part time.
1 full day or 2 evenings, for 36 weeks.


The AAT is one of the world's leading membership organisations for accounting professionals with over 100,000 members.

Studying for the AAT Accounting Qualifications will give you the skills to work in many different kinds of companies and organisations. The qualification is made up of 3 levels, with the Advanced Certificate being the second level. It is focused on the practical skills and knowledge needed to become a successful accounting professional.

This level includes preparing financial accounts and maintaining cost accounting records.

Entry Requirements

Entry by interview only. Candidates need basic computer skills and a good level of numeracy and literacy, which will be assessed at interview and need completion of AAT Foundation NVQ/SVQ Level 2 in Accounting or successful completion of AAT Skill Check.
Additional home study is required to ensure success and to keep up to date with the course.

Unit 7: Preparing Reports and Returns - Skills Test
Unit 21: Working with Computers (if not completed at Foundation Level) - Skills Test - (if required)
Unit 22: Contribute to the Maintenance of a Healthy Safe and Productive Working Environment (if not completed at Foundation Level) - Skills Test - (if required).


What next?

Progress onto AAT Technician NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Accounting, provided that the AAT Intermediate NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Accounting is successfully completed and a satisfactory tutors reference is presented.
