Manufacturing courses
NVQ Level 2 - Food Manufacture
Duration: You attend by meeting the assessor in the workplace, being observed and assessed through the work you do. There is no examination.
This Level 2 qualification builds upon the skills and knowledge recognised through either the Level 1 NVQ or through the role of the candidate at the time of registration.
At this level candidates will be showing some level of responsibility and contributing to improvements in the process/products. This, in itself, gives improved job satisfaction and is beneficial to the company.
This qualification is delivered in the workplace.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. Level 1 NVQ would be an advantage.What you learn
This programme is a vocational, work based programme. This course is aimed at employees working in the food manufacturing industry. There are eight training pathways available to suit a wide range of employees within the industry.Pathways include:
Production control
Craft bakery
Process bakery
Meat and poultry processing
Butchery
Retail and service support
Facilities support
Distribution
Candidates will study two compulsory units plus six additional units based on their job role.
Compulsory units:
Maintain workplace food safety standards in manufacture
Maintain the workplace and health and safety in food manufacture
What next?
You can progress to Level 3 and onto short course programmes in food safety.How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed by observation and assessment of your work in your workplace. There are no formal examinations.Which campus?
