AS and A Levels courses
Level 3 - Certificate in Applied Science
Duration: You will attend either 3 x 1.5 hours per week or as part of a full time level 3 programme, most likely 2 AS Levels.
This course will run over an academic year.
The course is designed to allow students to gain a general background knowledge in science.
The course is based on theory and practical activities. This will allow students to gain a nationally recognised qualification, equivalent to one AS level qualification.
Entry Requirements
BTEC Level 2 Applied Science (minimum Merit).GCSE Applied Science (minimum grade C).
Preferably GCSE English and Maths (minimum grade C) although these can be studied along side this qualification.
Mature candidates would be considered on individual merit subject to interview.
All specialist equipment will be provided by the Institute.

What next?
Students who successfully complete the first year of the course may progress onto the Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science, equivalent to one A level qualification.Any career requiring a sound scientific knowledge and technical ability, including:

Laboratory Technician
Sports Science
Veterinary Nursing
Technical Sales Representative
