Applying
Applying to study a full time course at the Institute is so easy:
Application...Interview...Induction...Enrol...Institute!
Normally you will fill a paper application form or apply online during your careers/PHSE lesson at school. Once we've received your application you will be invited to an interview. You can even bring your parents or guardians if you want to! At the end of the interview you may be offered a place on a course. If you confirm that you wish to accept it, the place is then yours, subject to achieving certain GCSE grades, and will not be given to anyone else.
Don't worry about getting on a course. We are here to help you, so if you have any queries or problems after you get your results please contact our Advice and Admissions Team on 01472 311219. We look forward to seeing you in September!

Work Based Learning / Apprenticeships
Once you've decided which job you would like to train for, you need to complete an application form either in writing or online at www.grimsby.ac.uk/workbased and return it to the Work Based Learning Department at the Institute.
You will be invited for an interview at the Institute. Engineering, Construction, Plumbing and Refrigeration applicants will be required to take a vocational assessment prior to their interview. If you are successful, you will be matched with an employer vacancy or work placement. Please note that this can sometime take time. The employer will then interview you and you will undergo a work trial. If this is successful and both you and the employer are happy, you will be offered a start date on Work Based Learning.
