Study resources & facilities

In addition to our world class training and learning resources, you will find that studying at the Grimsby Institute is the start of your journey to a better life.

We have two libraries providing extensive lending, reference and information services for all students. One is based at Nuns Corner; the second is located at the Art School, Westward Ho. Both offer computer access to the Internet and the Institute network, commonly used software packages and printing facilities.

The library holds special collections such as dissertations submitted by past students of Degree and HND courses, past examination papers and the Institute’s video/DVD collection. Study places are also available and dispersed throughout the libraries and the Nuns Corner library offers separate reading rooms for quiet study. Within the library there is also a facility for the visually impaired and staff are available to assist students.

We also have many on-site facilities, which offer student discounts including our gym and fitness suite, Retra Spa hairdressing and beauty salon, East Coast Travel Agency and Therapies salon. We have space for students to get together with our award winning student social centre, the i-Bar, which provides an excellent environment for meeting, eating and relaxing along with great value food and drinks, and regular entertainment.

The Grimsby Institute also has Halls of Residence that are conveniently located only a few minutes’ walk from the main site, close to all the town’s facilities, transport links and nightlife.
